My name is Allison Witmer, and I am in my senior year at the Pennsylvania State University studying Nutritional Sciences, in the Dietetics Option. Here at school I like to keep myself busy with extracurricular activities including actively participating in the Student Nutrition Association and Penn State Dance Marathon (THON). In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and playing tennis.
Upon the completion of my undergraduate degree, I am looking forward to new challenges presented to me in a Dietetic Internship Program. After accumulating the required hours, I look forward to passing the RD exam and entering the work force.
I believe I can practice most efficiently in the long-term by teaching nutritional information to large groups of people. The proficient writing and public speaking skills that I have acquired throughout my time as an undergraduate will be essential to my success in this endeavor. Through my past experiences working with kids at my local YMCA, I have grown to love working with this age group. I feel that nutritional habits are developed at an early age, and would cherish the opportunity share my passion and knowledge of nutrition with children of all ages.
