Redner's Markets
This past summer I completed a 300 hour internship with Redner's Markets in Reading, PA. Some of the things I did include:
Much of my work this summer was in relation to Redner's HealthCents Program. In this program, vendors can promote a healthy lifestyle while also offering customers valuable savings. Through writing for the magazine, creating weekly advertisements and attending sales meetings, I refined my writing, advertising and marketing skills.
This past summer I completed a 300 hour internship with Redner's Markets in Reading, PA. Some of the things I did include:
- Volunteered at community events like the Penn Street Market, the Berks Community Health Center
- Attended an FDA menu labeling workshop in preperation for new federal laws regarding caloric menu labeling
- Assisted with grocery store tours
- Wrote and published an article for Fruit and Veggies - More Matters
- Wrote advertisements for Redner's weekly circular
- Created Facebook posts to engage customers
- Worked on 2 issues of the Redner's HealthCents magazine. In the magazine below, I was responsible for organizing and writing the whole thing.
- Planned, filmed and edited videos for Facebook and Youtube
- Attended sales meetings with various company representatives to get them to participate in the HealthCents program

- Learned how the nutrition care process is applied in a long term care and rehabilitation setting
- Developed an informational community bulletin board providing healthy lifestyle and eating suggestions
- Demonstrated professionalism and time management by creating a volunteering schedule for myself to ensure projects were completed on time
Center for Childhood Obesity Research
- Conducted data collection for Project Candy by interviewing cohorts
- Utilized Excel to code for and enter data
- Demonstrated reliability and attention to detail to ensure accuracy
